Preparing for a Home Pickup

DCNE thanks you for scheduling a home pickup of your items. Please refer to the guidelines below for how your items should be prepared.

  1. Clothing and shoes: plastic garbage bags labeled DCNE/ the Initialism of the charitable partner (for example The Big Brother Big Sister Foundation would be BBBSF). We cannot accept items on behalf of charities we are not partnered with.
  2. Dishes and breakable items: properly wrapped and packed in boxes as if you were moving (30lbs max per box)
  3. Small miscellaneous household items: packed in a labeled and sealed box marked DCNE/Charity Partner Initials

In the event of bad weather, please place items in a plastic garbage bag, tied and labelled, and turn the bag upside down.

Please make sure your donations are clearly visible and placed outside no later than 7am on the day of your scheduled pickup. You can expect your items to be picked up between the hours of 7am and 5pm.

No, our drivers are not permitted to enter homes.

Your donation will be picked up sometime between 7:00am to 5:00pm. DCNE is proud to service over 100 houses per day. As a result, we are unable to provide our customers with a specific pickup time.

We are very sorry to hear that your donation was not picked up. Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

We do pick up in all types of weather, including rain and light snow. However, if driving conditions are unsafe or if there is a State of Emergency, we will cancel our pickup routes for that day. In the event that your pickup was cancelled, we will reach out to reschedule as quickly as possible.
